German

September 30, 2014

German is closely related to English, Dutch and Swedish. It is spoken as a first language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, and by millions more elsewhere in Europe and the world. There are many German-speakers in Australia, and it's easy to learn German. It is taught in many schools, but can also be learn in distance mode or after hours through the Victorian School of Languages. It is also taught on Saturdays by Community Language Schools . Bilingual programs are available in some government primary schools in Victoria, while the not-for-profit Deutsche Schule Melbourne (DSM) runs full immersion  bilingual German-English kindergarten and day school programs.

Adults can learn German at many universities, or take short courses at the CAE or through the Goethe-Institut in town. Kein Problem!
