Australia's latest Asian singing sensation

March 29, 2015

22 year old Hba Hae is a Karen refugee living in with his parents in Werribee. Soon after arriving in 2013 he learnt how to video edit music clips with him singing. The clips have clocked up more than a million hits - from around the world's Karen community - in Myanmar and the large refugee community in Australia, the US and elsewhere. And now he is getting coverage in Australia's English-language press as well - so he is well on his way to global success. He sings in Karen, not in English, mainly about love. Young and good-looking,  it's no wonder he's developed an international following as 'Star Boy'.
