Japanese

October 02, 2014

Japanese is the first language of Japan, one of the world's largest and most successful economies. It's also the language of very distinctive traditional and popular cultures, including samurai, tempura, anime and jujitsu. And let's not forget high tech, such as electronics and the bullet train. Japanese is also well know for the number of writing systems it uses.

Japanese is widely taught in our schools and universities. A number of Victorian state schools also offer Japanese-English bilingual programs. Japanese is also available via distance and after hours learning through the Victorian School of Languages . Japanese can also be learnt through the Saturday morning Community Language Schools program. Adults can learn Japanese at most universities, or take a range of short courses through the CAE .
