International Mother Language Day

Linguistic diversity is a hallmark of humanity but it's under threat thanks to globalisation, neglect and lack of support. UNESCO seeks to address that each year by supporting International Mother Language Day. This year it was held on February 21st - a date chosen to encourage speakers of all languages to use their own languages, and to support the smallest and the biggest languages.
